Housing First Research Digest Vol. 2 - Housing First Europe Hub

This edition of the newsletter is curated by Francesca Albanese (Crisis) member of the HF Hub Europe Research Work Cluster. The focus of this edition of the research digest is on studies which look at the cost effectiveness and potential benefits of Housing First interventions. There are longstanding debates about the extent to which Housing First is more cost effective than traditional staircase models which are centred around hostel and night shelter provision. Increasingly cost data is required to support commissioning decisions and make the case for long term investment in Housing First. Gathering longitudinal and robust cost data on homelessness services including Housing First can be problematic, the three publications summarised look at this issue in more detail.
