On 10th February, from 11:00-12:00 CET, join Antii Martikainen, Alppikatu Housing Unit Manager at The Salvation Army (FI), Gary Neil from Rock Trust (UK), and Liz Littler from Turning Point Scotland (UK) to discuss recruitment in Housing First. The session will be moderated by Niall Keane, Services Manager at Focus Ireland.
This is the first session of 2022 series of webinars on Housing First practice in Europe, and is ideal for practitioners of all levels, including frontline workers, managers and trainers.

Antii Martikainen – Alppikatu Housing Unit Manager, The Salvation Army
Antii has worked for The Foundation of The Salvation Army in Finland in a managerial position since 2011.
From 2011-2015, he was Manager of Castreninkatu Unit, which offers temporary accommodation for people experiencing homelessness.Since 2015, Antii’s role has been Manager of Alppikatu Housing Unit, which offers supportive housing by the Housing First principle.
Prior to joining The Salvation Army, Antii gained over 10 years of work experience in diverse roles related to Child Welfare, including as a Special Education Teacher and a Special Needs Youth Worker.Antii also holds a Masters in Social Policy from the University of Applied Sciences./p>
Gary Neill – Assistant Director, Rock Trust
Gary has been working in the homeless sector with the Rock Trust, Scotland’s youth homelessness charity for over 20 years. Gary’s time at Rock Trust has seen him work across frontline service delivery and operational management with a particular focus on supported housing, visiting housing support and Housing First for Youth (HF4Y) services. More recently, Gary has joined the senior management team at Rock Trust as Assistant Director. The Rock Trust aims to end youth homelessness by delivering services; influencing policy, strategy and practice; challenging disadvantage and systems which cause homelessness and working to ensure that young people have the services they need to avoid, resolve and move on from homelessness.
Liz Littler – Service Manager, Housing First Consortium Glasgow
Liz has worked in the homelessness sector for 20 years. 18 of these years have been with the 3rd sector in Glasgow.
Housing First has been Liz’s passion since 2013 and she joined Turning Point Scotland with the aim of bringing that passion to a role in which she could make a real difference. Liz is proud to have been part of developing the pioneering Housing First service in Glasgow, and has also been an active member of the Housing First Europe Hub since its inception. Liz currently manages the Housing First Consortium Glasgow service which is part of the “Pathfinder” project in Scotland.
Niall Keane – Services Manager, Focus Ireland
Niall Keane has worked in the NGO sector for the past 22 years. For the past 14 years he has worked in Focus Ireland as a Project Leader, Service Manager and Acting Director of Service. During this time, he has managed a wide range of services including Young People Services, Aftercare, Housing and Education services. He currently manages one of Focus Ireland’s emergency residential units as well as leading Focus Irelands service strategy and digital transformation project.
