In Italy the Housing First (HF) approach was initially promoted and supported in first line by the Italian Federation of Organisations for Homeless People (fio.PSD), also by the implementation of some pilot projects at local level, in the framework of a private-public partnership, the sc. Network Housing First Italia.
Last year, 2015, also on a public and official level, the HF approach was determined as the main and uniform approach regarding homelessness, as Housing First has been incorporated (as part. 2.9) in the National Guidelines regarding the fight against adult exclusion in Italy (Linee di indirizzo per il contrasto alla grave emarginazione adulta in Italia).
